****Permission to Forward Granted and Encouraged**** Be a part of the first annual National Excellence in Romance Fiction Award! This award will celebrate published romance novels and novellas and has been crafted to bring as much value as possible to romance authors and readers. Judges: Our first round judges are romance readers recruited from across the US and our final round judges are booksellers and librarians. Eligibility: We’ve made every effort to allow all romances to compete on equal footing. Whether you are a NYT bestseller, small press author, or self-publishing; if your romance was published in the US in 2012 we welcome your entry. Book formats: Entries will be accepted in both print and electronic (PDF) format. Deadline: Print books must be postmarked by January 31, 2013. Electronic entries must be received by January 31, 2013. The number of entries in each format has been capped according to the preferences of our reader judges, so enter early to ensure you can enter in your preferred format. Categories: We’ve included a broad list of categories to help books compete fairly and to help readers quickly find the books they love among our finalists and winners. Contemporary Series Romance Contemporary Single Title Romance Historical/Regency Romance Inspirational Romance Novel with Romantic Elements Paranormal and Futuristic Romance Romantic Suspense Erotic Romance Young Adult Romance Novella Best First Book (no additional fee required) Entry Fee: $25 per book. Prizes: Finalists and winners will be announced on the RomanceAwards.com website (to be launched January 2013). The site will include covers and blurbs for each finalist/winner and will be promoted widely. All finalists will receive a certificate and a web logo for their own site. Finalists and winners will also be announced in the Romance Writers Report.
